Thinking of injection some WD40 with a syringe through the gasket around the trip meter knob. I've penetrated the gasket with a long needle and can get approx. 1.5" into the mechanism.
Any thoughts?

Re: Trip meter stuck
Warranty issue? I'll check on that. Anyone else experience this problem or offer a suggestion?
Is there a way to get some lube to the trip meter?

After extended storage, my trip meter has issues. Each time a tenth rolls over, the entire thing rolls. As in 444.9 to 555.0 to 666.1.

Throttle issue after storage
Hello, Been off the R1150R for a couple of years but my new knees have me ready for the saddle. Got the bike out, drained fuel, replaced battery and put in 2 gal of 91 octane with about 1 oz of Heet to combat condensation and water that got in when I opened the fuel filler cap. It cranked a little t...

Holy sweat stains Batman!
It's been beastly hot and my air conditioned truck is getting new binders so I'm riding the bike. Been so hot in fact that for the first time, I'm riding without my full face helmet. Among other things you notice when riding without a helmet are the noises the bike produces, how clunky the shifts ar...

Re: Heated grips blowing fuse
boxermania, I replied yesterday but don't find my post. Thanks for the input. cyclerob, that's great specific information. I appreciate your time. I'll have time over the coming long weekend to investigate and see if I can determine the cause of the short, but may wait until I have some replacement ...

Heated grips blowing fuse
With winter coming on and my grips getting worn, I thought I'd approach this problem. Heated grips were not working so I replaced the fuse. They worked for a short time then quit. I assume the fuse is again blown. I have 48K on the bike and the grips are in need of replacement. Do I have a chance of...

Re: Toe / Heel Shifter for my R1150R ??
Perhaps I'm not understanding the mechanics here, being unfamiliar with Harvey Furgeson toe-heal shifters.
Is it the toe up motion that's causing you the problem? Toe down, heel down motions OK?
I'll have to study my bike this evening and think about it.
Cheers.

Re: "Quick disconnects" impossible reconnects
Time for the chrome plated brass disconnects from beemerBoneyard, eh ? For furture reference, the fittings are tight and need a little lube to slip together easily. I did the disconnects last summer when I changed the fuel filter. If you're in the store buying parts remember the real fuel injection ...

"Quick disconnects" impossible reconnects
The battery swap was going well with the new CP680 snuggly in place. I had the tank back on and the main tank bolt installed. Managed to wrestle the first disconnect back into a connected/latched position. Second one didn't go quite so well. It snapped, well you know where it snapped, where it is su...

Re: New battery recommendations
Thanks for the pics airman. I went ahead and got the PC680. It was the most convenient and least expensive of my choices. If the weather cooperates I'll try the exchange tomorrow. Looking at the Service and Technical manual, it's going to be more of a chore than I anticipated. This is my first batte...

Re: New battery recommendations
Local battery house has the PC680 for ~$95 +tax. Local BMW dealer has the Westco for $110 + tax.
Are there any fit issues with the Oddesy PC680?
Thanks,

New battery recommendations
After my long winters nap, it seems I'm in the market for a new battery. Having never purchased a battery for this bike, I'm soliciting recommendations from those with experience.
My local dealer has BMW and Westco batterys at $120 & $110 respectively.
Thanks,
Aitch

Re: I'm all choked up
I slathered it liberally with Kroil and finally, with a frightening amount of pressure, managed to move the button past the detent to its home position. Worked it for a bit but it's still quite stiff. I may have to resort to disassembly if the situation does not improve.

I'm all choked up
I fired up the bike for a ride to work after the bike had set for a while outside uncovered. It had been rained on. Now the choke button will not return to the off position and I'm at a constant fast idle. It acts like the cable is frozen in the sleeve. Please let me know if you can suggest a cure! ...

Re: Maintainence interval
Thanks snowprick, I'm still looking for the maintenance schedule in the small booklet. I think my next is around 45 or 46 thousand but can't remember.
I just need to get digging, I know I have not thrown it away. Probably in my truck club cab.
Thanks again.

Maintainence interval
I have somehow misplaced my manual. My last scheduled maintenance was at 42K if my memory serves me right.
Seems they roll around at about 3k intervals.
Can someone tell me when the scheduled maintenance might be.
Thank you,
Aitch

Re: Shifter rubber
All good suggestions. I had not heard of Shifter Skinz, that would work. Also, the notion of wearing black shoes and socks has merit. I was really wondering how the shifter rubber is installed. Looks like the toe peg is pressed into the shifter arm? If I could figure out how to dissasemble, I'd repl...
