Robert I of course agree with you that something should be done vs BMW. What in particular annoyed me is the sufficient attitude I got from BMW Italy, when they replied that the famous bolt is tightened at the factory with such and such torque and using a special glue which could keep a Titan rocket...

Yes DJ, it was bad luck but also very good luck that it happened while standing still. I continue to like the bike which I consider much superior to many others: only thing is why BMW doesn't apply some common sense and simply does what Cyclerob is suggesting, drill two holes and put two safety pins...

Welcome Outnabout, I am Italian so my judgment between Guzzi and RR could be a little biased! In effect I am biased: there is no comparison! The RR is much better looking, has a class of its own and rides better (apart from some glitches you can find in the various threads!) than the Guzzi. So go ah...

Thank you all. Thanks Cruiser the previous post is even scarier (reminded me of the novel Airframe - I think that was the title- by Michael Chrichton where the autopilot gets looped and it's a disaster!). Now that you showed me that such accident is not a rare event, I'll write again to BMW. Yes Box...

Stupid Telelever System!!
I must say I never really liked the telelever front suspension system of our bike: I was accustomed for instance to feel the strength of my braking also through the “dipping†of the front fork. The experience I got, convinced me even more. Here is what happened: after refuelling my bike ...

I bought an R1150R and when I discovered that market price of my '98 F650 was relatively low especially when compared to its mint conditions, I decided to keep the 650 as well. Main differences I found out: R1150R much better brakes and even more agile than the 650 because of its low center of gravi...

When I bought my R1150R I decided to keep my old (1998) F650, not only because I liked it but especially because it seemed a waste to give it away almost for free while it was working perfectly. So a good second hand F650 could probably be the right choice, even if brakes are not at the same level o...

Hey leoquattro...great pic..my little screen should fit your bike..without any mods needed.. DJ thanks, so you mean that the transparent screen on my F650 should fit on my R1150R? (yes I am so silly that I own two BMW bikes plus a small 125cc Honda motocross bike, my wife has only partially realize...

From springtime on I try to drive my bike to work everyday and jacket and tie is alas! required for me. So I wear a Spidi jacket and carry waterproof trousers in the case. I also use to leave a blue blazer in my office so sometime I can avoid the jacket. Problem are trousers cuffs which get caught b...

Here in Italy usually they wear only funny looking black bowls over the top of their heads, and we believe they have no problem with bugs because they drive so slow that bugs flying in their same direction are faster than they are, while those flying against them have plenty of time to manouver and ...

New Camus Thanks for the advice, I had not much faith in the puncture kit and wanted to remove it but now I'll keep it there. When you decided not to stay in line like a car you must have been hit by an Italian Kharma! Looking at how you drive bikes in slow or standing traffic in the US, we Italians...
