I'm new here. I live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I own a 2002 R1150R. A blue one!

Have the same type & color! San Diego, California here (84-F here today). What kind of tires (tyres?) are on your R? And, where's the giraffe?

Glad I've found a home for my bike's stories :D

As I am female I don't have any technical knowledge to share here but hopefully I can learn from you! (My bike just keeps on going..... :D )

The tyres are Metzeler Mez4's. I haven't got a pic of my bike with a giraffe! I will add this to my list of things to do :D

Beautiful photos you have posted. I checked out the link. I spent a month in Sudan about two years ago on a project and I am amazed at the contrast in your part of the continent and where I was.

I have an '03 r (silver) and have had it for just over 4 yrs now. Great bike and love it more each day. One of these days I hope to have the chance to work in Africa again but sadly probably won't be in the beautiful part that you live in.
