Need Help! Disconnecting Heated Grip Wires

I'm replacing my handlebars this weekend with Wunderlich Touring Comfort Bars. I've gotten to the point where I need to disconnect the heated grip connectors under the gas tank, and pull the wires out of the bars. I found the connectors, and they are different from those I've seen posted on this board. Instead of a 4-pin white Molex connector, there is a two-pin brown connector for each side.

My problems is, I can't get the pins out of the connectors. Any advice?

BTW, if you can't figure out how to undo the connectors, you could just cut them off and replace them with a different kind, like a couple Posilocks.

There is a locking tang in there. Depress it with a very small precision screwdriver and withdraw the wire. There is no need to cut them off.

I tried to find a locking tang in there, and pushed a tiny screwdriver in where I thought there ought to be one, but no luck. I was hoping to avoid chopping off the connectors and replacing them, but it looks like that's the route I'm going to have to take.

be sure you are sticking the screwdriver in the right slot. I had trouble with one of them but eventually got it out.
One other piece of advice when pulling the wires back through the bars. Be careful not to pull too hard or you will pull the wires out loose from the grips. I had to buy a new left grip because I pulled the wire loose.

Don't cut the wires. Here's the link to Kbasa's Ricky bar installation which will show you how to do this. Just think of it as releasing the wire connector from the plug.

My connectors don't look like the ones on Ricky's page. Instead of a white 4-pin connector, I have two brown two-pin connectors, which are much smaller. I tried using the "Ricky" method of getting the pins out, but to no avail.

I ended up chopping them, and resoldering them back together.

I hope to get the bike buttoned up this evening, and have a test ride with my new bars. I'll give you a full report.
