How to remount front shock

Post by maccraith »

I am looking for a clever suggestion for remounting my newly rebuilt front shock on my R1150R. I am alone and have no access to help at the moment. Has anyone managed to install the lower bolt by themselves? There must be a way that doesn't require four hands . . .

kirby wrote:Take the tank bolt (right side) ands slide the tank back (3or so inches) for access to the top remove nut , Support the front(under the engine) with a jack and lift till it unloads the shock bolts, very easy. Leave the front wheel attached and you can control the length with the jack.
Thanks for the reply, Kirby, but I am thinking I wasn't clear in my question. I want to put the shock back on - not take it off. I am trying to figure out how to lift the front wheel/forks/telelever assembly in order to install the top and bottom bolts. Any suggestions for that procedure?
