There is a wire coming out from under my gas tank that ends in what looks like a little light (or light sensor?). Does anyone know what this is a part of? I will eventually take the tank off, but hope to own the bike at least a week before I do that.
Thank you,

Do you have an "Autoswitch" installed? It is kind of hard to tell, due to the focus, but it looks like a status light for an Autoswitch, I use one to operate my running lamps. When the lamps are lit, that LED lights up.

When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
Wow, didn't know auto switches existed. I will see if I can figure out what it is doing. The bike does have a headlight modulator installed. I am still figuring out how that works. Hold the headlight button seems to toggle it. I have covered this thing to see if it was a light sensor for the modulator, but it didn't do anything.
Now I am off to read info on auto-switches. I may try to contact the PO, he left his insurance info in the bike, so I think I know his name.
Thanks for the info,
-Rick

It's kind of hard to see exactly what that is, but if it flashes red when you turn on the key, it might be an Autoswitch indicator LED. To test it, hold down the turn signal indicator "CANCEL" switch for ~ 2 seconds and it should flash red than quickly change to green. This is how you would turn on whatever it controls (aux. lights, etc.). Press and hold the "CANCEL" switch again to shut it off, or simply turn off the ignition switch.
That is the sensor for the Kisan Headlight Modulator. I have one and it looks identical to yours. Check out the following link to determine where to put it and how to set it up.
