Help.. found rubber cap

Post by scott7024 »

Does anyone have any ideas of where a small black rubber cap would come from? I just finished washing my bike before putting away for the winter and looked down and saw it under the front center of the bike. Looked around and couldn't figure it out. Have not figured out how to post pic on here if anyone can help I will post a pic of it.

Cap has FTE in center and 40250.003 and 40 around the outside

Thanks
Scott

That rubber cap fits over a small hole in the engine casing on the right hand side above the cylinder. It's an inspection hole for finding TDC when adjusting valves. Most of the caps fall off or get pushed inside the casing where they lay under the flywheel for hundreds of years. It's not a problem.

I hope you're not talking about your wife. I did that and she divorced me!

Hi Scott, does your bike come with servo brakes? As far as I know, FTE is the manufacturer of the servo hydro unit of our bike. Parts with FTE stamping should be related to the servo hydro unit.

What is the size of the rubber plug? Does it look like a bleeder nipple rubber cap?

Mine has a rubber cap on the brake line forward of the banjo bolt on the right side of the frame at the forward edge of the gas tank. Looks like there's a grub screw under the cap.
