If you purchase the BMW OEM oil filter like you should, they all come in the box for free.
Problem solved.

Not in western Canada.....have done 4 oil changes, not once did I get a crush washer with a filter, seperate item.No leaks yet though.

I just changed my gearbox oil...used the old crush washers...no leaks, however its not something I want to practice...plus it would be nice to have spare washers..

Arbee, a quick check in maxbmwmotorcycles.com reveals:

11421460845 Oil filter $19.47
11001341616 REPAIR KIT FOR OIL CHANGE $19.14

It doesn’t make sense, you pay more for less Image

chicago BMW prices are more realistic
11421460845 OIL FILTER S $18.90
11001341616 REPAIR KIT S $19.14
for a quarter more you get 5 washers 8)

Do they have to be OEM stuff?

A crush washer is a crush washer is a crush washer, isn't it?

I have only used the OEM ones but it would seem that AutoZone or Advance Auto etc would have something the right size that would work, no?

I just haven't looked yet. Anybody?
