AZ Rider's we need you!
I volenteered to be a Moto Rider for the AZ triathlon. That means we ride the course on our bikes, carry film, photographers, etc. Its a good cause. You get a T-shirt..whoo hoo..gas money, and all the power bars and Gatarade you can drink. Did I mention you could be on world wide TV? We need more ri...

I've been on a BMW's for 25 years, and a lot of miles. I've had some conversations with a few motor officers here in the Phoenix metro area (none in a professinal sense if ya catch my drift) All on a BMW love them, with some exceptions: They don't turn as tight at low speeds as a KZ1000 bike, I'll g...

I traded my 03 R1150R off for a R1200ST. Its a niche bike, great motor, you think ithas no low end grunt? I have to disagree. I've had mine a little over 3 weeks and racked up 2700 miles so far, commuting, riding mountians, extended highway travel, and I LOVE IT! Very comfortable, seat sucks but IMO...

Missing the R
Last week I traded my 03 Piedmont Red R1150R off for a new R1200ST. As much as I love the ST, I'm missing my R already. She was my first oilhead after 20 years on airheads. I loved my R and put alot of miles on her, and never took it easy. I bought the ST because it was that bike, the one that the f...

Its been fun, but its time for a change.
No not that..I'm getting married the 1st of Jan. We have been together for over 6 years, 2 kids, so its about time. She's a wonderful woman, great Mother, and encourages me to ride. Loves to ride with me when we can. The best part is she digs BMW's and loves the Roadster, did I mention I love this w...

I use premium from a name brand station. I have never had any problems. I know for a fact that some regular unleaded got dumped in the super tank one time as my bike pinged and quit doing it when I ran half the tank out and refueled. I changed the filter in the tank and now have an outside filter as...

Harry, Are you leaving it on the sidestand or centerstand? Leaving it on the sidestand will cause heavy smoking upon startup, due to the oil seeping past the rings on the low side(left) perfectly normal for the R259 motor. Relax, she'll use oil for the first few thousand miles. BMW uses a hard coati...

The trick is to have a set of long T handle ball end metric allens. I bought a set of snap-ons a few years back and they are worth their weight in gold. About 100 bucks. There are others at Sears and other tool jobbers. While your at it, a set of 1/4 drive and a set of 3/8 drive metric allens is han...

Years ago when the Honda 750 Hondamatic came out I rode one. It was weird! I agree with paper, it was a pig, and I kept looking for a clutch. Every truck I have every had is a manual transmisson including my Dodge quad cab I have now. Real trucks you shift! The first thing I do when I get in the wif...

I carry a SW .40, all the time. I have a L-frame SW .357 for home defense and a pistol grip Mossberg 500 12 gauge as a back up. Not fond of the 9MM round. The hydostatic shock of the .40 and the .357 gets the job done. I hunt Javelina with a 12 inch barreled Dan Wesson .357 with a scope, its up clos...
