Re: Washington DC

Thank you all for the responses! :D The Dutch driver’s license can be used in the USA, but mine is only valid for motorcycles. I’ve never bothered learning to drive a car. :? Guess I will be using public transportation. I didn’t know that the traffic in DC was so terrible. Although I can’t imagine i...

Re: Atlanta Blue

The R1150R is just a fantastic motorcycle, no matter the color. I’ve bought my Atlanta blue on the 19th of August 2002 and ridden her over 82000 kilometers. And I have no intention to trade her in for some newer model. That Roadster is reliable and that engine runs so very smooth.

Washington DC

I’m due for a holiday in October and I’m considering spending a couple of weeks in Washington DC. This will be my first trip to the USA, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to rent a motorcycle when I’m down there. Renting a car is no option because I don’t have a driver’s license for driving a car. ...

Re: exhaust tone

The tone from the standard BMW exhaust is perfect for me. It has a nice sound and is not too loud but not wimpy either. :D

No need to wake up my neightbours each time I come home late at night.

Please put me down for two, XL, short-sleeve T-shirts.

I really like the idea of reflective stickers! Sounds great!

Re: I think I know why they're soft... BMW wheels

Hello LionLady,

That must have been some impact on that front wheel. Glad to hear you’re okay!

I like that story about the bell. Maybe I buy one myself.

Hi Hank, I noticed the same thing a couple of month’s back with the left heated grip of my R1150R. But since I did not have the time or know-how to fix it, and I really wanted it to function for my motorcycle trip to Germany, I asked my dealer to take look at it. He replaced the whole left un...

Wobbling clock

Hi all :smt039 , I just returned from my motorcycle vacation in the “Bayerisher Wald”. Just riding around on my little blue Roadster and enjoying the sights in that part of Germany and a bit of Austria too. And since I was in the area, I also took the opportunity to visit the well-known ...

I still love her

My little blue roadster had her 60000-kilometre service today. Couldn’t help myself comparing her with the other and newer models BMW has to offer. And although the other models were nice to look at (and especially the K1200R) the Atlanta blue R1150R is, in my humble opinion, still the best-l...

My first time

It had to happen one day. I managed to avoid it for a very long time, but in Gibraltar it finally happened…. The little blue Roadster got a parking ticked… my very first one ever. :smt110 Nevertheless, I enjoyed the rest of the day and paid the £15 fine before I left the rock of Gibra...

Hi colinpollock, If you think your R1150R is great now, it will only get better! The more miles you ride her, the smoother the engine will run. :smt041 The BMW system cases are expensive, but… - the cases look good and are easy to use - the mounting rack is hardly noticeable, which is nice if ...

The R1150R’s 6th gear

The standard R1150R Roadsters here in the Netherlands are equipped the sportive short 6th gear. The ‘overdrive’ 6th gear is optional and can be fitted on a new bike instead of the short gear with no extra charge. From what I have gathered on this board, in the US the standard Roadsters ...
