Re: FFF - Finally Finished Last Farkle - new buyers beware!
It would be an interesting exercise to use my list and almost all other (off the shelve) farkles with an estimated cost of each one to see what is possible to spend on one bike

If you want clean air, buy a Goldwing.
I have the tall BMW screen. I tried taller screens and they gave me turbulence and buffeting and booming noise right on the sweet spot. Now I enjoy a low down screen. I still have the Cee Bailey 21" which I might use in Winter.

Check it out with a Google images search. Quite hideous IMHO. The blue's not so bad but beige - what were they thinking off?

Re: Got really really lucky today.
I think we've all experienced something like that at least on one occasion but perhaps without the finger wagging. First you have a feeling of a downer, then complete elation.

Re: ESA question
This is the schematic I saw as well. However, there is no control valve on the front suspension so it only seems to be on the rear one. All the other devices are just sensors.

ESA question
I was under the impression that ESA only adjusted the rear suspension but I read somewhere that it changed both front and rear. What is correct? The different settings are very subtle but quite noticeable when chucking it around country lanes in sport mode where when coming into contact with uneven ...

Re: R1200R Classic vs Ducati 1098s
The later 2011 R1200R has a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and the 1098S of just under 2.9 seconds. That's hardly smoke difference
Anyway - regardless, it was an interesting little experiment

R1200R Classic vs Ducati 1098s
I wouldn't normally post this but today in the suburbs of London, a Ducati 1098s pulled up at the lights alongside me and was revving for a blast off - so as soon as they went green I let rip (hard throttle - not the f*rt kind) and he could not pull away from me. Rather surprised myself how fast the...

Re: Tubed tyres losing pressure quicker than tubeless?
That's a really interesting reply thanks. Do you happen to know which type of tube is used with a new Classic? Is it worth carrying around a spare tube as well as a puncture kit in case of punctures like I do when I go cycling?

Tubed tyres losing pressure quicker than tubeless?
I have had my Classic now for 4 weeks and each week have checked the pressures. Each week appears to lose around 2psi front and rear which leads me to think it is a trait of tubed tyres. My last bikes, R1200ST and before that R1150R which had tubeless did not lose as much pressure. Has anyone else h...

Re: Off Topic, but because i talk to you guys its here
Some years back I rode to my doctor's surgery in my bike gear and we both discovered we loved bikes and out of weird coincidence each had the same bike - BMW K1200LT and from that point on we became great friends and went riding together. Every time I needed to pay my doctor a visit, we talked about...

My socks keep falling down
This may be the most ridiculous post ever but if anyone can give good advice - I would really appreciate it (and so would a lot of you I reckon). So you spend loads of time putting your MC togs on. Hoist your socks up and then boots on. After about 5 minutes on the bike socks are crumpled around my ...

Re: Givi Screen Model no. 147A + A5100A Fitting Kit to R1200
Well I adjusted the rake, but no difference and so I set it back to its original upright position. I've since added a Wunderlich Wind Deflector and this has made a positive change. Problem is looking at a great metal object in your field of vision might take a bit of getting used to - if at all. It'...

Re: Givi Screen Model no. 147A + A5100A Fitting Kit to R1200
Yup - that's identical except for the badge. Mine was fitted today. At about 40mph + the wind noise around my helmet was deafening - worse than not having the fairing at all. At around 70mph, the noise was even worse but the strange thing was that I could shoulder check real easy without wind blast ...
