Turn signal

Hello all, I had a strange problem on my way to work this morning. My left turn signal did not work at all this morning. I get to work thinking a bulb was bad or something simple like that, but the bulbs are fine and when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left it will work. So I guessing ...

Low Brake light viability

Hello All, I have a question about the rear brake light on my 2002 R1150R. When I have a rear trunk on my bike I'm afraid my rear brake light is not that noticeable. I was thinking about those flashing rear brake lights I see on some other bikes. I was just wondering what other R riders are doing. I...

Happy New Year to you as well! Just a quick question about the antifreeze.... Do you use a 50/50 solution of just strait up?

Re: blinking abs light

Yeah I checked the brake switches. They seem to be fine and it doesn't matter what switch I hit the front or rear will cause the servo to run continuously.
This is really weird!

Re: blinking abs light

The problem is mine never goes silent. When I apply the brake and release it the servo continues to run. I have to turn the bike off to silence the servo.

Re: blinking abs light

Thank you guys for your input. I don't know what I would do without this website and the fellow beemer riders help. The one thing that bothers me about this problem is as soon as I hit the brake the brakes (front or rear) the servo runs continuously. Is that a normal failure? I think I worked up the...

blinking abs light

I am dreading posting this because of the answers I am going to get. So last night I took a short ride and when I got back the warning and abs were both lit and the abs light was blinking rapidly. I also notice when I hit the front brake or rear brake the servo is staying on all the time. My bike is...

    Yellow CCP plug

Has anyone taken the yellow CCP plug off their bikes? I'm reading different reviews on this and was just wondering what kind of effects it has on the performance of the bike. Does it run richer and cause less surging or can it damage the cat converter?

Will the bike still run if the hall effect sensor gets wet? I do not have a spare one and probably would not be able to get one in time for the trip.

    Riding in the rain.

Hello all, so I have a trip next weekend and the forecast for the area I'm going to is calling for rain. I never had the 1150 in the rain before and would like to know how these bikes hold up in the rain. I have rain gear and would just like to know how these bikes handle in the wet weather. Little ...

    Re: 6th gear

Thanks for the replies guys! Just a side note: My bike did not come with the water pump Tower. I just mix the antifreeze in with the oil. It smokes a little but that's OK. :^o :^o :^o

    6th gear

A friend of mine told me that I should not use 6th gear on my bike due to the spline issues. I have a 2002 r1150r with 14,000 on the clock. I don't understand why 6th gear should have anything to do with the spline. He said don't use 6th gear on anything under 80mph. Is he full of it or is he right?

Hello all, I have a 2002 bmw r1150r and I have had it for about 6 months. I am still learning about this bike and this site is wonderful. The problem I'm having is I want to bleed the clutch and I am having some difficulty. Where exactly do you bleed it from? Is it the fitting by the steering on the...

    Cam chain tensioner

    Hello all,

I have a 2002 BMW R1150R that seems to be making noise coming from the left hand side. I have been reading about the cam chain tensioner upgrade but I can't seem to find them. Could someone offer some help? :D
