The guy I got to replace it on the road - Valdi at BMW Motozone in Torrance (really great mechanic, great guy, great...

Gingerly made my way back, and no probs whatsoever - appreciated the support for making that judgment...

2nd to 1st gear false neutrals - 04 1150R
Ive experienced lots of 'em over last 12000 mi since I bought the bike [at 2000 mi], and initially had a couple from 6th to 5th. Transmission has 'normal' agricultural feel :D and is improving as it breaks in...but am I simply needing more definitive shifting inputs, more wear-in, or is there someth...

Re: BMWMOA Rally
I agree with jas - the best bike route from seattle is 169 to 410, then 12 to Yakima, then south on 97. I drive that route all the time. The rumors you hear about 97 are not completely true. They do patrol now there -- maybe in fact a slight bit more than was the case 5 years ago - bc 97 in recent y...

Re: sidebags 1150R
Thanks all...good comments. I generally do appreciate the stock optics of the manufacturers stuff - particularly from an OEM w the elite design capabilities of BMW. So philosophically I actually wish I liked the system cases more... but I wound up ordering Givi softcases the T411 Voyager model to tr...

sidebags 1150R
New to the message board, just bought an 04 1150R, great find with only 2400 miles on it (was that bike that had been listed on Craigslist in Houston for several months, at a price fair bit higher than what I paid in the end). Very excited to tour it, and need luggage, but... Dont like the look of t...
