Re: Shifter help
I sold my R1150R about a year ago, and I haven't been back on this forum much. I use to be a real regular here and remember what you were going through. So glad to hear you are healthy enough to get back on the bike. You have had a long battle. My best wishes for many long days in the saddle beginni...

Macx,
Love that trailer, very nice job. But that floor jack, well... how did you get it up there?

Geez that's nice looking Kawi. The 1200 is O. K. , but maybe a bit normal for the Beakster crowd.

How about some favorite pics of your bike?
I am reluctantly posting my bike for sale on another site, so while taking photos, got a little artsy. Pretty happy with this one without really trying:

Just a good looking bike don't you think?

Re: Need help for silly problem changing rear brake pads.
Thanks for all of the advice. I finally got the pin out with the help of a phillips screwdriver and expert use of a hammer. Now I discover that to move the brake pistons back enough to get the new pads in, I apparently will have to remove the brake fluid. Tell me if I am wrong, but right now the pis...

Need help for silly problem changing rear brake pads.
Two little problems: 1) how do I drive out the pad pin? I can't get it to move more than a tiny fraction. There is no place for any leverage. So how do I remove it? 2) I think I lost the e-clip while screwing with the pin. Is this a common item or do I have to source this at the dealership? Thanks. ...

Re: Booster Plug
Interesting. I bought an R1200GS and at first was dissatisfied with the way it performed. it was very abrupt and uneven on and off throttle. I missed the smoothness of the 1150! Fortunately someone led me to the booster plug which corrected the problem. As I understand it, BMW leans out the engine o...

Re: Wunderlich Touring Wellness Handlebars
I have these bars I bought about 3 months ago and never mounted. They only left the box once for me to look at them. Shortly after I got them, I bought a new bike for touring, and and stripped the R1150R back to its original form (more or less) to use as a run about--or it grieves me to say--sell it...

Re: Degree of Difficulty Swapping out handlebars?
Sure, I've changed the mission of my RR from tourer to urban assault vehicle, so I should have a bunch of stuff to sell on the buy/sell forum. Assuming I ever get around to it

Re: Degree of Difficulty Swapping out handlebars?
Rick, Let me know if you want to go with the touring bars. I have a brand new bar in the box that I have never installed. I was looking to fix a comfort issue and ended up buying another bike, so the mission for my R1150R has changed from a long distant bike to an around town, short trip bike.

Re: Tire advice: Longevity Metzeler ME 880 VS Michelin Pilo
I purchased my 2002 RR two years ago and put new Pilot 2's on her right at 5100 miles. This past year I forgot all about having the bike inspected, so went up to the dealership to do just that just this weekend. The bike has 17564 miles on it, and the rear failed the inspection (although it still ha...

How do PIAA 510's, LED's, etc. compare to 1100X?
Does anyone have experience with both the 510's and the 1100x driving (not fog) lights? I have experience with 1100x and like them alot. Looking for another option that provides at least similar if not better lighting pattern for (primarily rural) night riding that can be left on in face of, and wit...

Help needed installing new handlebars
On a whim I bought Wunderlich's "touring wellness handlebar" for the R1150R. 1. Is there anything I need to be aware of or know before I tackle the change out? 2. Will the GS handguards still work on this bar? Any advice, direction, do's, don't do's, etc. all appreciated. Thanks Tom W.

Re: AEROFLOW OR PARABELLUM ON ROADSTER ??
AEROFLOW  is the way to go. Are the BMW wind screens worth looking into ? Thanks jim Yes.... look but don't buy. :D I have to disagree. Sort of. I have the BMW touring screen with the laminar lip. The lip eliminates the buffeting. Together I have a pretty good set up. Can't compare to the ...

Re: Motolights or Martin Fabrication lights
I often ride canyons at night and would love some extra lighting, mainly to see the road better. Will the Martin's or the Photoblasters help with that? If not, what is my best choice. Like many of you, I'm lucky to have my bike and costly upgrades for me are few and far between, so money is a serio...

Re: RCU light mounts for R1150R RCU 05555
I have the RCU brackets and am pretty satisfied with them. I use them for PIAA 1100X. These lights fix directly to the underside of the bracket so I have no side bracket coming down as in RDSmith's pictures. No windshield clearance problems (I generally use the OEM touring screen). No headlight shak...
