I believe the catalytic converter muffles things quite a bit.

Supertrapp makes an assortment of 2 1/4" inlet universal SS mufflers. Mine is the 24 inch, a 17 inch would slide right in, and be a few lbs lighter besides.

I finally installed a Supertrapp on my R1200R. I installed a Supertrapp Polished S-C Elite 2 1 - 4 in. Inlet - 4 in. Outlet - Stainless Steel , Part#: 446-2224. I bought it from Summit Racing. I've had two offers for $100.00 for perfectly good, undamaged mufflers. Due to the guaranteed destruction of the muffler, coupled with a probability of failure, added to the cost of the Supertrapp, plus stainless steel welding that I need to farm out, my out-of-pocket cost is high. Your price is high.

Does anyone have an OEM R1200R muffler that has been run over by a truck, or been scraped up by an unplanned slide, or otherwise savaged by the laws of physics? I need the inlet pipe and the inlet portion of the muffler intact. Sell it to me for my Frankenstein Muffler mod.

I'd like to buy an OEM muffler at a reasonable price. I want to cut it open, gut it, and install tunable Supertrapp internals. Then make the tail end removable. I may fail at this.
