R1200R Frankenstein Muffler Surgery
Does anyone have an nice aftermarket exhaust, with the original R1200R Muffler hanging from the garage rafters? I'd like to try a little surgery on the old muffler: do something with a sawzall, some Supertrapp internals, and some time with a welder. The result of the Frankenstein experiment would mount on my R1200R.

I have my old exhaust which only has a couple hundred miles on it....what do you have in mind?

I'd like to buy an OEM muffler at a reasonable price. I want to cut it open, gut it, and install tunable Supertrapp internals. Then make the tail end removable. I may fail at this. If I do fail, I'll cut the body off, leaving just the bent pipe that joins the header. I'd find a Supertrapp slip-on to fit the pipe. Either way, I'll spend a several $100's on Supertrapp parts. If one of these approaches works, I'd post the results, with photos. Mechanically inclined R1200R riders could have a cost-effective alternative to the Euro-mufflers for $700.00
