Sold the R

Well guys, I just sold the 1150R. It was a great bike, I will miss it. It went to a great home, it will be serving duty as a rental bike in San Francisco at Dubbelju Motorcycle rentals. I'm sure many customers will enjoy it. This board has been the best resource for all things R bike and motorcyclin...

I like First Gear stuff, I have two of their jackets, Mesh, and the other is kind of an all-season jacket (I forget the name, it's the one I'm wearing in my avatar<<<). Great jackets for the money. However, my favorite jacket is my Johnson Leather's leather jacket, it's custom tailored to me, and ha...

It is sometimes used to carry the following: cellphone bottle of water earplugs pen small notepad maps different gloves neck warmer..etc... AND since it expands....I could go o...

I recently saw some new bars from Wunderlich that were a little straighter than stock, but not Rockster-straight.
I don't even know where to get Wunderlich in the states anymore after the whole distributor fiasco about 2 years ago....perhaps San Jose BMW?

This month's picture

Is it me, or is there a striking similarity between the new R1200R and the R1100R as pictured on the front page of the site?
I didn't realize it until I saw this month's photo..... at first glance I thought it WAS a new 1200R......

Thanks for saving me the rental fee for that movie. I was going to rent it just for the fact that it had a silver roadster in it.

Silver is the ultimate color for an R! 8)

I used Allied. No problems. My Triumph went from Philadelphia, PA to Sacramento, CA., showed up safe and sound and on time.
I think cost was 700 bucks. Three years ago.

I'll have to agree with pepebmw, the R1200R "look sucky" indeed.
The lines just don't flow as nice as the 1150's.

I'm gettin' me one of them new Moto Guzzi Norge 1200's. Now THAT's a pretty motorsickle!

DVD and question

I just rented this last night. Great movie! Burt was da man! I really enjoyed the 70's documentary too. A true speed freak. I will definitely buy a copy of this. So, I understand his record still stands, is that for motorycle streamliner under 1000cc....or is it for an INDIAN streamliner under 1000cc?

I just don't know if they can ever top the good looks of the R1150R roadster. It will be/is a classic. As much as I'd like to get a new bike, there are none that are better looking to me.
