The R1150R will do 0-60 in the high 3 second range, which is faster than all but a handful of exotic sports cars. It will do the quarter mile faster than all but a few exotic sports cars. Beyond that, most sports cars do better since our Rs run out of steam rapidly afterwards and top out just shy of 130 (drag limited).

Top gear roll-on for our R isn't great since we have such tall gearing for motorcycles. Heck, I'm pretty darned sure that my 325i sedan has better top gear roll-on beyond 80 mph and it would go beyond its governer-limited 130 mph mark.

There are, of course, better bikes in the BMW stable for high-powered motorcycling.

mid 12's. the reason i fell in love with this car is .one day i was sitting at a lite on my R and a blue goat 05 pulled up next to me and he said nice bike and i said bitchen car its fast huh, he said i;ll show ya when the lite turns green , so i got ready ,[just to see what he had and when it went green he frick;en got on it ,i stayed with him thru 3rd then he was gone ,needless to say i bought one a year later and have already done some pretty serious mods , needless to say you can look the specs and data , up on the gto its definately no a r1 or a busa beeter but it will definately handle a R1150R , oh ya my R is and was then modified as well

also i weigh about 200 lbs so im sure if you had an experianced [drag racer] who weighs about 150lbs ,the numbers would be a little differant

mid 12's? That's impressive! Specs for an unmodded R are L-O-W 12's out of the box. Of course these are perfect condition, pro driver specs. Still, mid 12's...hmmm... GTO's have come a long way!

im running an ls1 with super 40's flowmaster's, larger throttle body wth a k$n intake sysrem its a 04 gto a4 basicly a corvette , the 05 and 06 have trhe 6.0 ls2 which is even faster

Sorry Beek, not to sound like an ass, but the even faster 6.0 GTO, all 400hp of it, usually does 13's. The last Car & Driver test - pro driver and pro launch, did a 13.3 at a 107mph trap speed (a trap very similar to the R).

Thats still wicked fast, but over a second slower than a 1150R which is a difference of many MANY car lengths in the 1/4. Add in the fact that the 1150R is very easy to launch, not like my fireblade, and I don't know why you lost a drag. But a roll-on over 80, I bet the GTO would pull on the R.

im basing these statements on the fact that i own each of the vehicle and bike in question and these statements are based on my own expeirance's mostly in street conditions though each has been on the track, your stats are true in fact but are ideal coditions and as i said earlyer weight and expierance are huge factors, for me ive had the bike on the track straight line and the twisties and even road it to utah[ west coast beekster bash ]and in my view is that the gto is rite there,
