Re: Starter Button - Bike Won't Start

Yes, it's in neutral . . . and on the center stand.

Boxermania, I loosened those and put the mess into a nylon loom to protect them, but I'll check anyway, they were still pretty tight . . . Geez BMW Eng's, wire's cheap, a few extra inches would have been nice.

Starter Button - Bike Won't Start

Hello all: So, putting the bike to bed for winter yesterday, added fuel conditioner and went to fire up the bike. Push the starter button and nothing happens. Flicked the kill switch back and forth, tried again, nothing. :( The fuel pump is powering up/cycling, the lights come on, everything seems f...

Re: What Inexpensive Rocket Should I Buy?

Thanks for the replies. So, the search starts for an inexpensive 600cc GSXR. After a little more research, it looks like this will be the biggest bang for the buck . . . cheap and cheap parts and, if I can afford one newer than 02, I get some of the improved handling and improved engine performance....

Re: Stickers and T-Shirts

Hi there Airman: Thanks for the thumbs-up on the shirts. 8) There's a reason the stickers are the size they are. They are printed on a 3M reflective material, and then laminated for extra protection and fading. The original design was slightly larger, but the company that made them advised me to go ...

Re: What kind of cage does an R rider drive?

Subary Legacy LSI, approaching 100,000 miles. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Full time AWD is a must-have where I live :) Chevy Z71 4X4, rebuilt performance 8 banger: cam, carb, manifold, headers, distributor, etc. Looks totally stock, never gets driven except when it really snows or when our bikes...

Self Maintenance and Computer/Firmware

So, me and Mrs. North both do all our own maintenance on our bikes. Question :?: Is there anything that needs occasional maintenance with regards to the motronics/computer etc.? Should the bike go back to the dealership every once-in-a-while for a firmware update? Does a dealership tuning via diagno...

Re: BEAKSTER T-SHIRTS & STICKERS - FINAL UPDATE

Hello all: For anyone who hasn't received their shirt, I would wait til the end of this week (except anyone outside of Canada and the US). USPS and Canada Post are both notorious for delivering some stuff really fast, and some stuff really, really slow. If you haven't received it by the end of the w...

Re: wiring sheath??? rotten 2004

I got some electrical 3/4" split-loom and cut a short section (about 2 inches) and placed it around the wires where they rub, then used tie wraps to secure the top and bottom. I haven't had any issues and it's been up there for almost 3 years :)

What Inexpensive Rocket Should I Buy?

Been debating buying a crotch-rocket for track use for about 2 years now. This week a buddy of mine came by with his new Ninja ZX10-R and we swapped bikes for a half hour blast. That put me over the top and I've started looking for serious. Now the tough part. I can't afford the 15 large for a secon...

Inside pocket of my jacket. After a crash a few years back, I never ride without body armor, so always have a spare that way :)

Re: BEAKSTER T-SHIRTS & STICKERS - ORDER HERE!

Yes, this should be a sticky :) I've asked Doug to do this. I think he's just really busy. Bikermeow, I'm 5' 10" and 160 pounds. I wear a large. Weird that you wear a 46R jacket. I wear a 42R. Different manufacturers = different sizing. Hmmm, don't know how to guess on this one. I think a large...

Re: Cyclerob - Clutch Spline Greasing?

Thanks all for the insight :) In summary . . . Cyclerob, if I read correctly, greasing the clutch spline is not a necessary service, unless you have a substantial amount of the drivetrain already pulled apart? And . . . For a quick check, pull the starter, and check for large amounts of play. Looked...

Re: Idea for Beakster sticker - Pls indicate quantity

Bikermeow, where did you get the picture of my vehicle last week in the freak snowstorm we got ;) Sorry all, but I'm really busy at work this week. I'll have the order form up next week, I'll work on it over the weekend if I get a chance. The cost on the stickers is probably going to be around $4.50...

Re: Cyclerob - Clutch Spline Greasing?

Combustor, do you have any documentation on how to check the alignment or a link to a website that shows the procedure. I'm just coming up on 40k miles (I've got a US bike), and think a check would be good.

Cyclerob - Clutch Spline Greasing?

Calling Cyclerob :) Tried posting this in another thread, but it got buried. How often does the clutch spline need to be greased? Cyclerob made mention of this. I don't remember seeing this in a level 1 service or did I miss something :-k How do I do this :?:

Cheers
