Just curious as winter is approaching and I'm wondering if on this go around the bikes should be tuned at the dealer.

Self Maintenance and Computer/Firmware
So, me and Mrs. North both do all our own maintenance on our bikes. Question
Is there anything that needs occasional maintenance with regards to the motronics/computer etc.? Should the bike go back to the dealership every once-in-a-while for a firmware update? Does a dealership tuning via diagnostic plug in produce a better tuned bike vs. me, a bunch of wrenches and a manometer?

Re: Self Maintenance and Computer/Firmware
No, No and No.
The diagnostic plug doesn't have any tuning capability, all it does is retrieve a very limited amount of stored codes. The Motronics ECU on the R1150's is nowhere as sophisticated as those fitted to the R1200 series.
In general the wrenches and the manometer, specially the sync of the TB's, will give you all you need for a good performing engine.
