The Maiden Voyage Photoshoot - R1200R

Post by Lost Rider »

Today was the day that I traded in my 1150R for this black beauty.
Originally I was looking for a different color, but this is what was available at Chicago BMW, so I went with it.
I couldn't be happier with the black with stripes, goingto be a PITA to take care of, but....... Pictures do not do justice for this bike, the stripes rock!
Here's some shots from the North-side of Chicago, it was a wonderful 50ºF sunny day today.

Classy looking ride! I'm partial to the black and white stripes as well, but need something more dirt oriented, so won't be seen on a 12R anytime soon. Nice backdrop along the water. Enjoy her - She looks a beauty!

Looks very nice, Joe. How many miles today? Nice photos gave a good look at the bike close up, too.

(you'll need to change your sig line from R1150R Granite Grey to the 1200)

Thanks Gyspy, I forgot about that sig thing.
I put on 90 miles today along with putting on 4 coats of Zymol wax, and a bunch of other mods, adjustments, etc. that I will cover over in the 1200 forum.
We're supposed to have nice 60º weather tomorrow, and I have a full day of riding scheduled. I have a the 600 mile service appointment already scheduled for Wednesday morning. Unfortunately I'm leaving for 10 days working on wednesday night, so I want my bike to be all broke in and setup for when I return. 3 day camping trip in mind when I get back.

Here's a video of the startup test on the gauges that I think is super cool.

Just wondering if your rear tire is on backwards..Just check the little arrow for me...cheers.

I'm sure it's right..I don't know why I think it's wrong..I don't mean to scare you.

BTW the water color in your pics is amazing.

It's got factory farkles!

Give us a 500 mile report on the new stock seat too.
