Wunderlich Comfort Bars and Other Additions

Post by sloopy_farklehump »

I'm storing my bike at the dealership this winter since I don't have a garage. As long as it's there I was thinking about having them mount the Wunderlich Comfort/Touring bars. I already have mototechniques bar risers but I'm still having some wrist/elbow pain after riding 4+ hours. What about supplemental brake lighting for visibility? Aside from cases and GPS are there any other Must Haves? Thanks

I put the Wunderlich Touring Comfort bars on my bike after a couple years with Moto-Techniques bar backs.

I'd like to say that the the Wunderlich bars are vastly more comfortable, but they offered only a slight improvement in my case. Although the wrist angle is better, the bars feel too wide for the bike, and still not close enough for a good upright riding position. YMMV.

I highly recommend the Kisan Signal Minder, which gives you three levels of front and rear running lights for extra visibility, self cancelling turn signals, and the ability to cancel your turn signals using the same switch you used to activate them instead of BMW's inconveniently placed cancel switch.

Re: supplimental brake llighting:

I've been very happy with the BMW supplimental brake light. Was very easy to install and the guys I ride with always remark about how much brighter it is than the regular brake light. I know there are other lights out there, but this one went on easy and works well. Also, I plastered red 3M highly reflective tape on the backs of my saddle bags. I chose red because in some states you are not allowed to have anything but red or amber after the rear axil.
