Disk Locks

Post by celticus »

Can anyone tell me what "Disk Lock" or kryptonite type lock will fit the brake disks on my R1200R? I have two different locks and both of them have pins ( the part that goes through the hole in the brake rotors ) that are too large for the holes.

Am I missing something as to how to use these locks? Do other bike have bigger holes in their disks?

Nobody steals BMW's in the states, only Harleys & asian bikes. Sorry, can't help.

I like the looks of that lock that doubles as a foot peg (you won't forget its on the disk as you won't have a peg), but doubt it fits BMWs.

I think there's a bit of truth in Rob's comment. I used to park my R1150R on the streets of Boston and New York overnight and unlocked, and no one ever touched it. I don't think there's much of a market for BMW parts the way there is for Harley and crotch-rocket parts because there aren't that many of them around.

I saw an ad for disk-locks recently that said that the locking pins could be ordered in 14 mm or 6 mm sizes...
