Removing the idiot warnings?

Post by motorrader »

Does anyone have a suggestion for removing the small stickers with fuel rating warnings, etc. on top of the tank, safely? :?: :?:

Heat them with a blow dryer and be patient or you will put tiny scratches in the paint.

I removed all of the stickers on my bike the day after I bought it. Couldn't stand them.
De-badging.
I just used my fingernail to peel up a corner, then carefully pulled the sticker off.
Sometimes a small amount of residue was left over, so I gently used a little Goof Off on a soft rag to finish the job.
A few coat's of Zymol on the paint, and I have a nice clean tank. :D

Halogen

500 watt halogen work light...5 minutes heat. Works better if you spray on some water or solvent as the heat builds. Peels right off.

Avoid more than 5 minutes unsupervised....those halogens get flammably hot.
