Board Members Only Weekend in WNC

Post by wncbmw »

I intended to file a ride report worthy of DJ but alas, this pathetic report will only serve to make us all appreciate DJs great reports even more. It takes a great deal of effort to stop and take the time to get good pictures. We appreciate your efforts DJ.

Anyway, machew01 (Michael) and DSKYZD (Brian) came into my territory this weekend and stayed at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground. We made a day of it. First, I met them at Pisgah Inn, along the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 10 minutes from the campground. The parking lot had other BMWs besides our two Roadsters and Michael's new K1200S.

I lead them on multiple backroads that shall not be named on the internet but I would be glad to show you in person. Here is Michael pulling into an overlook at the top of one of those roads.

And the 3 bikes parked at the ramp entering the BRP, which we did not take!

And finally, I stop along another road at a good stop, convince the guys to go back and ride thru my camera view!

Brian shows us how it's done!

Michael's turn.

It was a great weekend with some of the board brotherhood. Next time, I promise more pictures! :D

I rode in the rain to meet them for breakfast, with my wife along, before the guys headed for home.

Ya'll come back to see me now, heah! And any one else that wants to see some "classified" roads in the area.

I had my GPS with me this weekend but Vann confiscated it. He told me if I would pose for him and let him take my picture he would give it back to me.

Before we split up for the day he pulled out this big silver lipstick looking tube thingy, held it up, and told me to look at it. I said, "Who do you think you are, Will Smith?" Then he flashy thingied me and I can't remember any of the roads we were on.

Disclaimer: Parts of the above may have been fabricated.

Truth: All of the above has been fabricated.

I took 5 different photos on this trip:

Mike Chew said when I get a little older he and Vann might let me start drinking coffee. Don't ask me what that has to do with anything. It's past my bedtime again. I'd better go now.

I know what you mean Brian. I rode with Vann up there one time and ever since then when I examine a map of that area a sharp pain occurs inside my head just above my right ear.

I wish I had come. Nice pics. Brian, get that buzz-cut soon.

Nicely done gentlemen. Nicely done.
I can smell the fun coming through my monitor.
Hurricane Francis stole my last opportunity to join you guys.
I will overcome, someday.

I am contemplating relocating to that area, when my son is off into the world.

How far are you from Raleigh?

I do it in about 4 hours in the cage. I'll bet Michael does it quicker on the K1200! :P

One might say that wncbmw and DSKYZD ride like farmboys late for lunch - or , in this case, elevenses.
