another R in the garage

Post by Maxjett »

Well a few years ago I had and r1150R and then I picked up a pearl white Rockstar pretty cheap and it was a keeper! I'm not sure where its at but long gone, so now an 04 R has appeared in the garage next to my 15 GSAw just as a second bike and maybe a bike the wife can actually get on. I've put maybe 2-300 miles in the last couple weeks and getting use to the naked bike feel again with just the small sport windscreen. yesterday I did about 200 mile ride on the GSAw and the hp difference is amazing but the R bike is just fine for what it is but the windscreen is pretty effective on the GSA.

I can say after owning maybe 6 boxer engine bikes that the new water cooled engine is like night and day. Now I like the older boxer engines have a little character and the water-cooled is smooth not inline4 smooth but close. With the near 125hp its like the turtle and hare and add traction control and shift pro and you've got yourself one fine motorcycle.

No windscreen in mind yet I do have a tinted taller that came with the bike but no better that the sport screen. I'm picking up a generic Memphis screen and see if I can fit it on the mounts and probably cut it down and see how it works.
