Alternative for saddlebags

What do people use to carry things like lunch box, jacket, etc.(tailbag) ? I have saddlebags but would rather only use them for trips. Please post pics if you have any.

Top box does most of my lugging.
It's big and ugly, but it's waterproof and solid. (most tailbags aren't).

Currently an ancient Givi.
I did try a BMW R1100RT topbox, but it doesn't have the capacity for a full face helmet (annoyingly, as it looked good).

My commuter setup is a Coocase Astra 48 top box. I usually leave the side cases at home. Holds my laptop bag, lunch, and dress shoes. Can leave my riding pants and jacket in it if I don't want to wear them in.

I took the cheap route and got emgo portable travel trunk. You will need a tail plate to install it. Locks with a key, removes as a carry bag, etc.

I keep my system cases on with rain gear in it-they are indispensable to me. They look better and carry more than top cases. Hell, I can fit everything it takes to have a BBQ, including small bag of charcoal. 12 pack of beer...meat... chips... LOL. Iv'e REALLY loaded them down a few times.

Iv'e gotten "Why don't you take those off, you always look like your'e on vacation?!" Well, I feel like i'm on vacation when I ride it. so....I dig it, they stay. BMW's boxer bikes are supposed to have cases IMO.

Id like to add a top case at some point, my Mrs. would prefer to have a back rest. It would need to be easily removable, because I hate how they look. LOL.

Can you get your helmet in one? My Arai will only go in if the outer cover is deformed slightly. Top-box will take 2 helmets with ease.

Medium Scorpion EXO 1000 helmet did fit. But on my trip last year, while limping the bike with a flat front to tire shop, I dropped it and broke it(was a long 15 minutes or so and Im still sad). Ive been using my wife's large since, ill bet it DOESNT fit. But, I take my helmet into work with me, or lock it to the side, if I'm going in somewhere. Also my sons small fits, so if i drop him off at school there's no issue.

Thats the right case only of course. left is downsized to clear exhaust.

Thanks for all the ideas. For now I'm using a roll bag from my last bike. I added some bungee chords to adapt and it works OK, so I'm in no hurry. But I will consider these ideas, thanks again.
