front brake rotor upgrade

Hi all
time to change the front brake rotors and I want to upgrade to floating rotors. I have several after-market options; Brembo, RAC, no name...

Two questions...
1) does any one have any comments regarding different after-market suppliers?
2) does any one have a link to a how-to guide for changing the rotors?

What model r1150r do you have?

They all(1150s), have floating discs stock from the '99 model!

My bike was sold in the French market in August 2001 and the rotors are definitely not floating. I've just ordered a TRW Lucas RAC set so we'll see how that goes.

As standard they are fitted with wave washers behind the disc and bobbin bolts so they 'can' move.

In Practise they don't feel like floating discs because you need a fair bit of effort to get the wave washers to deform.

Sorry sir, they are floaters, they all are from 1999. I wonder if you know what a floater is?

I might add that the r1150r brakes are quite good and it will be hard to improve on them without full on racing setup. Seems a bit much for public road use.
