Grey silver goup in transmission, what is it?

I bought a chp r1150rt and have been working on it. Paid $1210. New plugs, k&n filter and fluid changes. I got around to doing the transmission and all this grey silver goup came out with the gear oil. Does anyone know what the chp has been adding.
Before that it shifted kind of badley and rubbery. Sometimes It was easier to start off in 2nd than first. It was hard to get it into first gear from a stop and neutral. Now that I changed the gear oil in transmission it is easier to shift to first or I roll it a few inches to a foot and then it goes into first easy. The bike does have 168,000 miles. Now the bike seems much faster. Shifts better. What do you think the bike is worth? Overall good condition, good brakes, the abs is broken, and good rubber, with all the fairing intact, the power windshield works too.

$1210 FANtastic! Just be prepared for scary costs-you never know. What year is it? I'd hope since it was a CHP bike it was properly maintained. Were all 168k in the hands of the CHP? I'm definitely wondering what the clutch spline area looks like. Id be happily surprised if all that is original(it's nice to hear good stories)

the goop. Prob just a moly additive? Some people swear by those. Iv'e never used them as of yet. But, hey, if it got that tranny to 168,000 miles on that big heavy brick of a bike...I might consider one in the future.

How do you know it shifted badly before having the gloop? Or did you mean it shifts better without the gloop?
I find a semi synthetic 75/90 improves the shift quality over mineral 80/90 grade GL5.

Moly additive, is black in color .
You probably don't have any left, but if you do, is the grey material magnetic ????
A test for aluminum, is to add a strong acid, like battery electrolyte to the material, if it's aluminum, it will bubble and be consumed by the acid .
I may be wrong in this instance and I hope I am, but a large amount of silver material in a gearbox, is usually not real good news .

One thing I found with my r1150r (with considerably fewer miles) for getting it into first gear, particularly before it warms up, is I have to rest my foot on the gear shifter, with the clutch out, so that it's almost to the point of clicking in. Then, I pull in the clutch and press down with my toe and it will go into 1st gear every time. Before I read this little technique somewhere on this board, I had to start off in 2nd gear more times than not. First time I changed the gear oil after buying the bike, it was kind of a greyish goo and pretty smelly but still relatively normal viscosity. Used Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil. Haven't noticed any problems.

I've found it necessary to double pull the clutch to get it into first after a longish idle.

Liqui Moly 4420 GL5 LS SAE 75 W-140 Hypoid Gear Oil Fully Synthetic is available. No idea if it is silver or other colour. Not heard of it until now.
How is the gearbox now that the gloop has gone? If there is no untoward noise I'd get it warm and change the oil just to see if any more metallic stuff is apparent. If there is a major problem exists.
