Successful Long Ride and Sports Screen

Got home after a 1000mile return weekend excursion up to the Black Isle. (North and East of Scotland).

Wet and windy at times but the sports screen was generally better than the two piece MRA screen it replaced. The reduction in wind noise at an indicated 80mph is significant and my ear plugs stayed put. I assume a low pressure behind the old screen was popping them out.
Rode with two piece , ex german army,goretex waterproofs which were fine and only my leather jacket collar got slightly damp.
The bike went fine and I'd no rear end pain between tanks full.
Some amazing roads including the notorious dingle to Tomintoul road. Over 2000feet at the summit through a ski "resort"- that is high for the UK.

Wet and windy is something not seen in So Cal much!

Are you trying to p**s us off over here in the North of England (North Yorkshire) Contrary to the popular opinion in other parts of the globe, it is not always wet and windy here; sometimes it is foggy!

........ but, to me it is beautiful and .... just different. Is there an ugly part of the world (discounting human influence)? OK, desert, and the middle of an ocean





I'm not quite sure why, but the preview of the top photo appears cropped.

Before anybody comments on it, I hold my hand up and confess that the Spifire has been photoshopped into the photo - but I still love it.

Came over Shap summit last Monday and it was chucking it down and rather windy. Was forced to slow down a tad.

Shap was bad enough in the car last Monday must have been hell on a bike.

A couple of weeks ago I moved some stuff up to my work related pad in Aberdeen from Norfolk. I've long been a fan of Northern England, Dumfries and Galloway etc. The further I got into Scotland the more I wished I was on my bike as the weather those 2 days was perfect for biking!
