I picked up a used 2010 R1200r last month, put it on the highway, and got knocked around. The bikes got the BMW touring shield. I have spent the last two weeks reading all this windshield banter and I really don't want 7 windshields in the garage. The best answer for me appears to be the third generation Cee Bailey 23" with a 1/2" Don C Block. But I just don't care for how it looks. What I would like to do is put on a Wudo fairing. The few pictures of this fairing that I have seen on this site sure look good. The wife has vetoed the Parabellum Scout, and the Hannigan fairing as not a good look. The Wunderlich Trophy fairing looks ok and would be a second choice if it delivered a great ride. The few comments I have seen about the Wudo fairing generally say that people like the Wudo, but nothing specific. I would love more information.
I am in Phoenix, Arizona, so I'm not that worried about cold protection, but I would like to keep the wind off of my chest and have smooth and quiet air around me. So...
Anyone who has installed a Wudo Fairing, please chime in and let us know how it rides. Is the air smooth? Is noise levels down? Does it keep the wind off the chest? Any information would be appreciated.
Thank You!!!
The Wudo Fairing - Does it deliver smooth air?

Re: The Wudo Fairing - Does it deliver smooth air?
I have a WUDU on my '07 R12R. I had a Cee Bailey 16" mounted on the BMW touring bracket previously and had quite a bit of turbulence. Reading all the threads about all the screens some had purchased that they still were not happy with, had me not wanting to go down that road. Plus, and of course this is just my own personal opinion, I think any screen taller than the sport screen changes the character of the bike into something I don't desire. The Wunderlich Trophy looks too retro to me, like it literally came off one of the older classics; very high quality to be sure (I love my Wunderlich seat), but again, not what I was looking for. The WUDU OTOH, was designed to compliment the lines of the current bike and seems to do a very good job of eliminating/dispersing the wind near the tank and provides a very quiet ride with little to no turbulence and/or buffeting. I'm 6'-2", 240Lbs. with a 33" inseam and the air hits me at the clavicles; my Shoei Quest stays in free air. Since I have a WUDU, I have not kept up with what's available. Your '10 has the symmetrical tach and speedo I believe (?); has WUDU made this an option or have they stopped making the older style? Pricey, but you'll have no regrets.

Thank You Oaktown!! I agree, the taller screens change the character of the bike. Since it sounds like the Wudo does the job, I will be ordering me a Wudo Fairing!

You cannot beat the Wudo r1200r fairing for looks. It is exceptional. But it is also expensive and the mounts are a PITA. I fixed the BMW touring screen buffeting problem by cutting ~1.5" off the top (measured at the center) using a table saw with a plastics blade and some very fine sandpaper to finish the edges. The top edge of the shield is now flat rather than curved. Quick, cheap, effective, and it looks great. The flattened upper edge allows the wind to flow smoothly over the shield. It hits me at my clavicles, leaving my helmet in clean air, much like my old VFR, from which I got the idea. I also have a tall CalSci but only use it for very cold weather or long-haul touring. (I am 5'10", 175lb, and use a 1" bar riser.)
