I need advice

Looking at a 1996 R1100R. It has bags, windsheild and 33k. Needs tires and the owner stated that the ABS doesn't work but the bike still stops. Nothing other than the ABS comment troubles me. Will the bike still function without the ABS operating? How much to fix it? He said an ABS pump was needed. How much should this affect the price I pay. My first boxer so sorry for all the questions. thx, Jon

If you are OK without ABS then the brakes work as standard brakes when they are disbled - but the price should reflect that as a new ABS unit is $$$$$

If you want you can ditch the unit and run stainless lines from the master cylinders to the calipers and use the spot the pump was at for storage

KBB is $3,500 bad ABS pump shouldn't be a deal breaker if he is asking that. Tires, battery, and breaks are par for the course on replacement items on anything you buy.
