Hello from Texas

Post by cardingtr »

First post.
I've been browsing the pages for about a month now as my interest on R1200R grew the more I read about it. Finally pulled the trigger and bought a new for me 2007 R1200R from a gentleman in Chicago. Now the waiting game is killing me til the bike ships.
Coming off from FJR, I am looking for a lighter commuter/tourer with shaft drive and thought this model is the best fit.

Welcome! I came off a Triumph Sprint ST last October. After 5K, I am very happy with the bike. Enjoy the Hill Country!

Welcome Tex! =D>

The R1200R is easy to fall in love with. There are many possibilities, tweaks, and adjustments you can make to this wonderful machine. :-k

Most have been discussed here at length and more than a few lively debates have broken out. All in good fun and an indication of member passion on the subjects.

Upon receipt of your RR, you do realize that pics will be required...I mean, we all know what RR's look like, but we don't get tired of looking at them, yours, somebody elses. :D

I wish you well on your journey from snowy (we ain't rid'n till freak'n April...) Connecticut. [-o<

I know of a bike that was for sale in Chicago...it was very, very nice and well-equipped. Wonder if you got that one....?

Best of luck and welcome to the club.

Could be. I bought it from an advrider forum member. I almost bought one from a member on this forum (also from Chicago) but we can't make a deal fast enough.

Texas is a big place, what town are you in? We might run into each other one day.

Welcome cardingtr... The R is my first bike and so I can't compare it to other bikes but I can say all that you might read in this forum is true. But my bike uses little oil and seems to be mostly trouble free. All the minor problems I have had were taken care of by the dealer.
If you like working on your bike and doing maintenance then there is plenty of info around for that. Hope you get lots of miles on good roads.

I'm originally from Houston... in Texas. :-k

I'm from McAllen, Texas. Never seen an R1200R around our area all these years until today parked in the gym where I go. I wonder if he is a member here?
My bike will ship hopefully on March 2 by Allied Shipping. I'm hoping for a smooth sailing to Texas!
