Luggage Fixture

Post by shake1150 »

Hello all,

i'm looking to get a set of system city cases for by beloved R...

I was wondering if I could use these "luggage fixtures" to mount the luggage onto? or are these only to be used with tie-downs? (see picture)

I'd rather not use the regular luggage rack because i think its aesthetically ugly, and these seem to me that they would be smaller and stealthier (if they would work)...

any advice would be appreciated.

cheers

As I understand it, these will not fit the luggage hooks on the bags. They would also be at the wrong angle and location on the bike, which puts them too low for the lower support to engage. There would also be nothing for the cases to latch to, as the latch simply blocks the case against the luggage rack.

These are merely tie-down locations, though I'm sure you could use them as mounting locations for a set of aftermarket soft-luggage.

I am assuming that you want to attach the BMW cases, if so you have two options, either the R1150R case holder which is part 1 in the diagram.

or the case holder from the R1150GS, part 2 in the diagram. If you go with this option you will probably need the spacer, part 3
