Front master cylinder seals

Post by TracyPrier »

Hi all :)

I have noticed small amounts of brake fluid dropping onto the inside of my handguard on the R850R so it looks like an overhaul is called for.

I notice BMW seem to only sell the piston with seals for a silly amount of money.

Does anyone know if you can get just the two seals by themselves? either through BMW or just using generic seals?

Apparantly the 1100 uses the same ones.

If so do you know a brand/part number?

cheers
Tracy

Hi Tracy,

depends on the model year of your bike. I believe the brake lever unit comes from a German company by the name of MAGURA. I have no clue if the seals are sold per piece and I don't know which seals that may be. Maybe have a look at RealOEM (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=34&fg=05) and see if one of thos parts is what you are looking for?

If not maybe try out some second hand offer. These units are sold quite often thru any of the well known platforms.

Kind regards
Oliver
