Another newbie

Post by Seamus »

Hello all

I finally got round to registering/posting after lurking for quite a while. Had the RR since December last year after test riding it out of curiosity (I know, I know)! When I bought the bike it had only done 1500 dry weather miles so was virtually brand new. I have added 7000 miles so far and I use the bike every day to commute as well as for leisure. I would post a couple of pics if I knew how to but I'm a bit behind the door with computer technology.

I live on the outskirts of Manchester in the north of England.

Great site by the way,

Cheers

Welcome, Newbie! You'll find the answers you seek using the search function, we have discussed all manner of things previously.

Enjoy your steed, look forward to your pics.

Thanks for the welcome Peter. I did do a search but was in a rush earlier so didn't give it my full attention. I will try to get it sorted and post a couple of pics ASAP.

I'll be amazed if this works! A few pics taken two weeks ago when I went to see some friends in the south of England and returned home through Wales (camping). I do have some more but the quality is poor on most of them. Anyway, here goes....

Thanks bobw. They do look the business don't they? Mine is rarely as clean as it is in the photos though.

They are Hepco and Becker 40 litre Juniors. The racks are H&B 'Lock-It' which are detachable.

Ey up Nigel. I live in East Manchester so we're virtually neighbours.

Nigel, sorry for not replying sooner but I've been away for a few days. I know Marsden as I go to the Jazz and Green Man festivals and sometimes stop there for a smoke break when out riding. I'm from Hyde so only down the road really. You don't by any chance live next door to a tall fair haired gentleman who rides a sports bike do you? If so I think we met a couple of years ago.

No that wouldn't be me Sean but now you mention going to Marsden, was it you i saw parked up by the football field a month or two back on your bike. I was in the car so you wouldn't have noticed me.
Let me know when you come over for the jazz festival and i'll have a chat with you in the pub.

It could have been me Nigel, as I say I pass through Marsden reasonably often when I'm on the bike. I asked about the neighbour because my 'other half's' colleague lives next door to someone who supposedly has an R1200R. I thought with Marsden not being a huge town it could be you. She has since informed me that "it might be a different BMW!" I will pm you nearer the time of the festival and have a pint or two with you.

Cheers
