Ignition coil resistance specs.

If some kind person has a manual,I would like to know what the ignition coil resistance specifications are for a R1100R. I would think they would be the same as a 2 plug R1150R. I am having a problem with a very rough running engine. I have cked many things, but have not fownd the problem yet. Help.

My Haynes manual states :

Ignition HT coils
Conventional type coil
Primary winding resistance ............... 0.5 ohms
Secondary winding resistance
850 and 1100 models ........... 13 K ohms
1150 models ................. 7.5 K ohms
Stick type coil .............. no data available

Clymers manual :

Ignition coil resistance (single spark)
Primary ......... 0.5 ohm
Secondary ......... 1300 ohms

Ignition coil resistance (dual - plug ignition)

Primary spark plugs with direct ignition coil
Primary ......... 0.87 ohm
Secondary ......... not measurable

Primary spark plugs with traditional ignition coil
Primary ......... 0.50 ohm
Secondary ......... 7500 ohms

FWIW,

We are talking a 2002 single spark here:

I am tracking down a problem (cold starting problems, starts fine when hot, power loss on acceleration, huge power loss at 4k rpms, but not in every gear) and (in light of my recent wiring harness failure) I pulled my coil to check it's resistance settings.

The specs offered in the Haynes and Clymer are conflicting and confusing (e.g. what is an HT coil? High Tension?).

So I called MAX BMW, and Mike in parts graciously pulled a coil from the parts bin and one of his techs put a meter on it.

My coil and the brand new one off the shelf posted similar readings: primary = 0.7 ohms, secondary 7200 ohms.

Mike said that his tech said that the secondary wires have a history of giving problems, so I checked resistance on those: 5500 left and 5800 right side.
No specs are given for those, but I figure if both are that close together they are probably ok.
