Wobbly rear wheel

Post by motoracer8 »

A friend of mine has a 08 R12R, and asked me if I would take a look. With the engine running and in gear the rear wheel wobbles side to side about 1/4" as if the wheel was bent, this machine has only 4,000 miles on it, and he dose'nt take it moto crossing. I also noticed when the wheel was spinning the rear disc and caliper would wobble as well, I checked the wheel lugs and they were tight. I thought mabe this was one with a loose spline, I could not move the wheel side to side by hand, it had no leaks and was smooth turning. I said I don't know but I would get it to the dealer, something is not right. To be continued.

I'd have the dealer ck the run out on the rim and rotor. At so few miles it's likely only BMW and the dealer has had any hands on dealings with the bike and he would know if he hit something that caused rim damage, but rotor?

It's under warranty, let them check it out.

Good luck
