Lost avatars and Growing pains - solution inside
As some may have noticed, their avatars have gone missing! There was a bug in the new version of the forum software that made 455 people lose their avatars. As of yet there is no solution to the problem from an automated perspective, but I have copied all of the avatars to a directory.
To reinstate your avatar:
1. Go to your USER CONTROL PANEL, then click on the PROFILE TAB at the top, then click on EDIT AVATAR on the left, then click on the DISPLAY GALLERY button at the bottom.
2. Find your avatar and select it by clicking the little circle below the image
3. Click submit at the very bottom
Sorry about the inconvenience, but this is the only solution I can see for now. I'll try and fix this as time goes on.

err, yeah, mine doesn't seem to be there.
No real loss though, so don't stress yourself over it Doug.

I added another gallery of avatars from Shaman (thanks man!). There is a dropdown box where you select them when selecting your avatar via the instructions above.
Maybe this link will work for you guys?! http://r1150r.org/board/ucp.php?i=profile&mode=avatar (Then click on DISPLAY GALLERY)

Mine is not there, and I tried to upload it, it says my profile is updated, but does not display the picture.

Store it at photobucket and then link to it.Dan-A wrote:Mine is not there, and I tried to upload it, it says my profile is updated, but does not display the picture.
It works that way.

I understand the bandwith issues for a whole bunch of large photos, but an avatar?Shaman wrote:Store it at photobucket and then link to it.Dan-A wrote:Mine is not there, and I tried to upload it, it says my profile is updated, but does not display the picture.

Has nothing to do with Bandwidth, its because of the update. I havent had time to devote to fixing this yet. I need to find several hours.. It will be fixed. Just need some time..
