Hi fellow riders,
New to R1200R (got one new a couple weeks ago, about to do the first 1000km maintenance). All in all, a fantastic bike. I am sure you all know this :-).
After reading through the manual (yes, I am a manual geek) and did a quick search on this forum, I still can't find a way to adjust the clutch cable tension.
On my previous bike (Kawasaki), there is a tension adjuster that one can use to bring the engagement zone closer or farther away from the handle bar. But R1200R just doesn't seem to have this.
Am I missing something here? I just find the bite point a bit too far out for my liking. I'd love to bring it a bit closer to the handle bar.
Your help is much appreciated.
Jonathan
ps. I know there is a small black screw just underneath the lever. But my understanding is that it is only to adjust the lever position.

Re: Clutch Cable Tension Adjustment
There is no cable - it's hydraulic - the reservoir over the clutch assembly feeds it.
The only adjustment IS the screw on the lever. And it should accomplish what you want..

yes, but isn't that what you want to do? adjust it so the clutch actuation happens with the lever in a position closer to the bar?KamenRider wrote: ps. I know there is a small black screw just underneath the lever. But my understanding is that it is only to adjust the lever position.

Re: Clutch Cable Tension Adjustment
Thanks Crazyhorse and Deilenberger. It's very helpful.
Obviously, I still know very little about the bike :-P. I will try the little knob again.
Cheers
