Fork leaking oil

Post by gel9001 »

Hi,
Today I found some oil on the inner fork slider. I did a search for replacing the fork seals but didn't find much. Anyone here replace their for seals. Is it a doi job or for the dealer. Wonder what a dealer would charge?
thanks,

Gene

Depends on how bad the leak is. If it is not bad, I would just wipe it off occasionally. It's not as big of a deal as a traditional fork (one without telelever) because the oil in the fork is simply a lubricant, and the dampening is done in the strut. Another good thing is that our setup is also much easier to fix. Cyclerob has done it, he should have some good suggestions.

I've been debating how much my leaking seal bothers me.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
