Sold the bike...

Post by adg44 »

I jumped ship.

I'm picking up a new '06 Triumph Sprint ST this afternoon. I wanted a bike with fairings, and I prefer the riding position of the sprint over that of the rockster. I won't lie - I was quite sad to see the bike go, but the new owner is very excited about it and I'm sure he'll take good care of it.

So, goodbye Rockster:

I loved the K1200S, but it was $8,000 more expensive than the Sprint, and the insurance was more triple what I am paying now. Also, that bike may be a bit out of my skill level currently, so we'll see about getting into one later.

Anyway, I enjoyed my time here, and thanks to all of you for all the information and help.

Sharp bike! I have to admit, I'm interested in the Triumph Street Triple and the Tiger as well. But I'm sure I'll stick with my paid off R!!
Good luck with the new ride and keep us posted on how you like it.

I have put 150 miles on the bike since I picked it up, and it is so much fun to ride. I don't think some of the fit and finish that the BMW had is there with the Triumph, but it's not bad.

The heat shield for the under seat exhaust was touching the body panel though, and it caused the plastic to bubble. I will have to mention that to the dealer so they can adjust it and put on a new rear body panel.

A few pics....

I think of it as an inexpensive K1200S. :)
