K12R Mirrors on my R

Post by ErikM »

Never cared much for the mickey mouse stock mirrors, these fit right up no adaptors needed and not really expensive. http://picasaweb.google.com/erikeminer/K1200RMirrors My winter farkling is almost over, last on the list Ohlins next week!

I never liked the Mickey Mouse look either..which is why I have R1200ST mirrors on my R12R. I actually like the looks of the K12R mirrors better.

I bought a pair of K12R mirrors for my daughter's bike since they're a simple bolt on replacement . Now that she's selling her bike, she won't need the mirrors. I'll post an ad in the Buy/Sell section if anyone's interested. $80 plus shipping (which shouldn't be much).

NCGS, I'll take those mirrors off your hands. Mine are due in for replacing anyway (cracked when my bike was hit.) Shoot me a PM with your info.

Here's a couple photos of R1200ST mirrors on my R12R. As I posted above, I actually prefer the K12R mirrors a bit better, one reason is that they're a straight bolt-on, without using the adapter that I had to use to mount ST mirrors.

Regardless.. no mo' Mickey Mouse ears... :smt023

I still get some vibes at speed.. but I'd have to say that the overall amount of vibration is less than with the stock mirrors.

I also get a bit less vibes, and because of the shape a better view.

Bill, Line of sight to the rear is much better - the mirrors stick out a bit more than the stock mirrors, so I'm seeing less of my manly, broad shoulders.. :^o

The windshield is from Ztechnick. I'm having a few growing pains with it - in fact I'm expecting the taller version on my front doorstep any day. I hope it works - the quality of the parts is great, and like you, I like the way it looks.

I always look over the windshields on my bikes. I rode a bike in the rain at night many moons ago where I had to look through the windshield. That cured me on the spot.

Received and installed the K1200R mirrors (thanks again NCGS.) In addition to looking better than stock, I'm of the opinion that they're considerably more functional. Vibes are way down, and the wider design gives me better rear views. A great addition, and highly recommended. I'm left wondering why these aren't fitted to the bike as stock.

Pics coming...

OUCH! You didn't happen to snap a pic of them on the R did you? I can justify just about any thing, but that may be a stretch even for me :doubt:
