Upcoming Interviews; input from the forum?

Post by peckhammer »

Hi all,

I am working on two new shows. I thought I'd give you folks the outlines and see if you had any ideas for questions to ask the guests.

If all works as planned, I will be interviewing an expert on engine failure. He claims that what happens during the first two hours of operation of a motor will determine how long it lasts before failure. Although this comes from a racing perspective, it is applicable to street vehicles as well. IOW, we will be talking about the importance of proper break-in. We will also discuss engine oils, as this is part and parcel of engine longevity.

Does anyone have questions about engine longevity, oil, etc. that I can try to get answered in this interview?

My second show will be about mopeds, which have a very active and dedicated community. There are some very talented people in this somewhat underground group of enthusiasts. The lineup will hopefully include all of the follwoing: The owner of four moped shops (Michigan, California, Ohio and Seattle) who is behind the resurgence in mopeds; A tuner with an extensive knowledge of moped tuning, and specifically tuning stock cylinder mopeds for better performance; another tuning genius, particularly with Peugeot mopeds who has built a crazy water-cooled Peugeot 103 with a manual foot pedal variator that has to be seen to be believed. He's also a top notch fabricator working on building CDI systems for mopeds; and a guy who builds some of the fastest bikes around -- He's topping 60mph on a few of his bikes for closed-course venues, and running insanely high compression, and making it work.

Any question ideas for this group? Thanks!

I dont really have any input, but I am one of the folks that dont baby an engine in the beginning. In my experience it hasnt made any difference.

But I am interested in the show. Can we see it on youtube or something later?
