tail bag recommendation

Post by AndyK »

Can anyone recommend a large tail bag that will fit on an R1100R? I wouldn't mind one that extends over the top of my hard cases, but really want one that has quick releases for easy removal. I'm obviously not too good at packing lightly. Thanks for any suggestions.

Are you looking for something for everyday use or for touring? I don't use a tail bag, but these look nice. Otherwise - to put in a plug for my favorite accessory, I have a pair of ROK straps always attached (at the rear grab bar and the frame) and it's really quick to strap on my laptop bag for commuting or a large dry bag for a trip. I even use them to hold musical instrument cases and other miscellaneous cargo. When not in use, just cinch them up and tuck in the ends.

Pinecone,
Those MotoFizz bags look great, and might do the trick. I'll call the company tomorrow and look into how easy they are to remove. Thanks for the tip.

Cortech's fabric tail bag is pretty good. It is made to buckle to the matching side bags, but in addition has a bungee strap system that works well. While it has expansion zippers on both sides it does not get really large.

I bought one off Craigslist for the Roberts backrest/rack on my K100RT and standing on its tail it works well there. I have yet to strap it to my (new-to-me) R1100RS, but I am sure it will be a good addition there as well.

I ditto the comments about Roc Straps. I love them!!
