I got this little jewel at a nearby Harbor Freight store for $10. A few years later on they went on sale for $6 and I bought 2 more of them. Pretty cool. The cig lighter plug and wire stores inside the big bulge.

There's a story that goes with it. At the Bash in Marlinton WV I was riding with a small group and Scottybooj was complaining he was having trouble keeping up (or something like that). I noticed the large front tire footprint and sure enough, it was at 25 psi, causing it to not handle well. We were at a gas station and there was an air vending pump for like 75 cents. I said forget that, we'll use my pump. Well! I get out my little 7(?) year old compressor I've recently been carrying under the fueltank. I plug it into my bike and start pumping up his tire for what seemed like 2 minutes. Unhook the compressor and check the pressure at 24 psi !!! It LOST air!!
Close inspection of the running pump revealed the hose was dry rotted and cracked where it connects to the pump. Couldn't really hear the hissing over the loud racket the pump makes when it's running. Scotty got out the cash for the station's pump and over-pumped up both his tires so we could bleed them down later when the timed pump stopped. I felt pretty bad for letting him down. I couldn't fix the leak by shortening the hose because of the chintzy crushed tin ferrule they use for a clamp. You can see it in the pic above.
Crap!! All that time I carried that pump, never needing it until it mattered. It's a good thing there was air available where I essentially let out 1 psi air of an already too low tire.
After the right tire pressures and I believe adding some more rear preload, Scotty turned into Joe racer. Leading the group later, He was actually scaring me with his riding "too close to the edge". We made it back alive, but it was a little too close for comfort.
When I got home I took it
completely apart, down to it's little one ring piston, to inspect, clean & grease the speedy internal workings. Cut the clamp and hose off and reattached it. Works fine now, but it needs a new hose. Just re-reminded me I gotta find one soon, that can handle at least 60 psi. Also, it has to be run checked every so often to ensure it works as advertised.
