Hi. Will any of the BMW tubeless spoked wheels fit the 1200R, and has anyone done this?

Different wheel sizes.....1200R takes a 17 inch, GS is 21.

Those wheels probably won't be tubeless though but they do look very nice.

I would only consider wire spokes if they were tubeless.....

While surfing on ADVrider I found a post where someone inquired about a 17" wire wheels set for the K1200R. If it's possible for that bike, it should be possible for ours.

Mark,
Unfortunately neither the diameter nor the width would fit.
The GS has 2.5x19 and 4.0x17, whereas the R12R has 3.5x17 and 5.5x17 wheels (Frt/Rr).

I wonder if you could use the hubs though. Does anyone know if the ABS ring is the same on the new and old(er) ABS system?

Just been in contact with Woodys.......it seems the total kit with hubs etc would be around $2k.

Since ebay does not yield a lot of late model Beemer parts, you'd probably would have had to spend that much on a set of stock wheels - if a straight swap would have been possible.

If you're ready to spend a bit of a premium for some REAL premium wheels, how about a set of Alpina's? This guy is importing them, and could probably get you something that would work. They are racing light, and look fantastic!
