Touring in PA redo

I was due for a road trip. The weather was forecast great for a week and I was ready for something other than a laptop. I picked up some light and fast camping essentials and planned a trip to the Gettysburg area of PA. Some 400 miles from home. Image

I rode across Pa on 30/40 and the first national highway which along the Maryland/PA border. Not the most inspiring roads but interesting scenery. My goal was to make the Gettysburg Campgrounds by 6pm, so I hopped on I-68 toward Hagerstown. I had some nice twister's on Old 40 that parallels I 68.

The rodes around Gettysburg are beautiful but difficult to do much carving without imperial entanglements. I traced the river toward Harper's Ferry and was rewarded with rolling hills and and sunshine.

By far the best riding was central PA through the hill country. There is a piece of brilliance from Tyrone ( off I-99) highway 453/729 toward DuBois.

Posted as 45mph, the 50 miles of road was perfect... almost empty, smooth, and lots of tight turns.

I stopped after a nice bit for a stretch. Looking at my rear tire, I wonder if I was even close to leaning the R to the max. Can you get the R to the edge of the tread and still not touch down on a jug?

For some odd reason some photo sites don't let there pictures appear without needing to click on a link..yours are one of those..

I'll modify your post for you so we can see your pics (by clicking on a link) ..Hope you don't mind.

Bugger!!...Still not working...It must be the photo site or something else that's stopping the pictures appearing.. 8)

Thanks DJ, I appreciate the help. It would seem I need to drop Fotki.com and find another site! So is it your understanding that highlighting the photo address and hitting the Img button will have the image load automatically when the post is opened? Does the image appear as you are editing the post or only after preview or submit?

I had an account at photostockplus where I post local Rugby photos, I will see if that will link up properly.
Thanks again
Steve

The account name is Steve Meadows, on a search it is the 4 page I think. My image addresses have "free" in them. I couldn't see if the premium service makes a difference in functionality... just no ads.

Zoom.
Thanks for the great report. We do have some nice roads here in the Keystone state.
After looking at your albums, you now need to schedule some ride time in Iceland. I have spent some non-riding time there too and it's magnificent. I have often imagined a trip round the island on a bike...with or without MY basketball buddies .
Thanks again and keep 'em coming. :D

FOTKI has an image sharing feature below each photo which is the correct link to use to show the image in the post. Just enclose it inside the [img] tags.

At the top, I just right clicked and selected/copied the link in the properties tab. It works to click on that link but it won't show them in the post with the [img] tag. Don't know why.
