Thanks Vann. The snow shots were really beautiful. It's odd to see snow covering green instead of brown.
In this picture, why do you have a leash from the grip to the sidestand?

Gypsy - the sidestand is on a round, plastic support to prevent it from sinking in the wet gravel. The 'leash' is wrapped around the handlebar so I can retrieve it after mounting up or to stop me from riding off and forgetting it!

Hey GypsyRR...What he's saying is that he's too old to bend over and pick it up.
I can imagine him mounting the bike..and pulling it up..like pulling up the anchor before sailing off..
...just kidding wncbmw..
..it's a good idea.

The truth is, I lost several by riding off and forgetting them or remembered after getting in the saddle and having to get off the bike to get it.
Unless, of course, DJ, you are limber enough to reach the ground while in the saddle!
If so, show me the pics!

I like the side stand tether. I just use the 'old piece of wood". Alas, I have lost a plenty of them.

Hey, all the Goldwing guys use the string, so why can't Vann?
This Bash has got to be the most well documented motorcycle event in history.
Your photos are great! Thanks

Hey Bob - I'm not too sure I like the Goldwing comparison!
Next thing you know, I'll be getting a stuffed animal for the rear seat!
Glad you enjoyed the pictures. We should get together some a do some riding when you are in WNC!

Thanks for the photos Vann. BTW, I also use the plastic on a string trick on questionable surfaces after watching a friend's bike slowly tip over!
