Motorcycle Shipping

Post by MikeB »

Has anyone out there had any experience with DAS Motorcycle Shipping? I've decided to use them to ship a bike from Pittsburg to Missouri. It may be to late if what you tell me is that they are bad news. I guess I'm hoping that some of you have had a good experience with them. Thanks in advance for your help..... :)

I have a tip re shipping bikes..(maybe not relevant here..but)

Don't have the bike on its center stand...(btw..I'm talking overseas shipping)

Friends had their's shipped in a large shipping container..some on their center stands.

The container was dropped slightly and the bikes on center stands all had bent stands and frames..insurance should cover it but what a hassle.

The bikes not on center stands survived ok.

MikeB,

I am in Oregon and have talked with owner, Dean Pierce, of Dealer Transport Services. DTS assembles motorcycles for dealers and also ships motorcycles. They also provide services such as "Fly-n-Ride" where you can have your bike shipped to any location to ride, then they will haul it back for you (for those of us who have jobs that get in the way).

Their web address: http://www.dealertransport.com/cratingandshipping.htm
You could give them a call to get further info.

I have not personally had my bike shipped by them, but I have worked with them professionally and I think they are a class act. I WOULD have my bike shipped by them if I were going somewhere far away!

My 2 cents...
